a saved watt of electrical energy, as the dictionary result
would lead one to believe. Because when you save a watt of
energy...it means you do not need it anymore, therefore it
does not even need to be produced again. I'm just saying

I just watched a video from charity: water, in which Jennifer Connelly
shows us the terrible plight of the hundreds of millions of people who
live without access to clean water and sanitation.
Then I took action with ONE and asked my senators to cosponsor the
Senator Paul Simon Water for the World Act of 2009 (S.624), which will
help bring first-time, sustainable access to clean water and
sanitation to a hundred million of the world's poorest people. Check
out the video and then make that commitment, too, by adding your voice.

SEPA Releases Top Ten Solar Rankings Report for 2008
Report Illustrates Power Industry`s Adoption of Solar Electricity
Today, the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) issued a report demonstrating that the industry has made major strides amidst a tough economic climate. SEPA`s "2008 Top Ten Utility Solar Integration Rankings" report identifies the utilities in the U.S. that have the most significant amounts of solar electricity integrated into their portfolio, and records the increased collaboration of the U.S. electric utility and solar energy industries. The report shows that the utility segment is making a major investment to increase the amount of solar energy in power portfolios, with many utilities doubling the amount of solar power in their portfolio in just one year. The overall installed solar capacity of the top ten ranked utilities rose from 711 megawatts to 882 megawatts, reflecting 25 percent growth. Ninety-two utilities participated in this year`s survey, an increase of more than 80 percent over last year, showing that the utility industry`s interest in solar power is stronger than ever.

As solar panel installation is increasing by multiple millions of square feet annually, the higher demand for the petroleum-based plastics needed to manufacture the cells threatens to disqualify solar energy as a true green energy.
