The past month has been quite a deal. Road trips to St. Louis and back, now Las Vegas and back. Finally made my girlfriend of 8 years, my new bride. Just spent a couple of nights in old Las Vegas, Golden Nugget. Very nice, right in town, next to court house and clerks offices.

My Crown Vic performed as always, 1500 miles round trip and did not miss a beat. Gas pretty cheap across the trip, around $2.10 a gallon, sticks to my mind. If you've never made the trip, we came back to Northern CA via Nevada, driving from Las Vegas north to Reno and then straight to Redding, Via Susanville, from Reno. (four hours, from Reno to home.) A meeting in Vegas had already cost Virginia a day of work, but it was best, since the drive back, even letting her sleep, was tough. Why do it? People ask. I did quite a lot of flying in the military, and later as a sale rep for Louisiana-Pacific Corporation, but I just don't appreciate flying like I once did, and hearing it's the safest mode of transportation, after every air craft crash does very little to change my thoughts on the matter. Add to it, the shake-down pre-flight searches and the power you give these airlines, once on the plane, over your freedoms and liberties, sitting for hours, trapped on the flight line, unable to get off the plane, I just can't agree with. Other issues I will not get into.

I would like to ask my FED Radio guest to forgive my not being on the air, at least
with me, these past two weeks, ask for you to tune in next week and we'll be discussing funding energy projects. Now let's talk Financing here...

Vast, large sums of money are currently being sent to state governments, cities and counties across the nation, by the Feds. A recent call to county officials in St. Louis, I discovered, 150 projects submitted for funding request, the day after Pres.
Obama signed the stimulus into effect. We requested $20 million for loan guarantees to purchase 5ea shopping centers and adding $5 million in renewables to
the centers. Our plan is to use these centers as working renewable energy demos, taking space in each center and using them for jobs and training programs in the middle of 3 million folks. This is a perfect example of what President Obama calls private sector job creation. I was told that there would not be enough money to fund even the 150 packages already submitted, however, I was also invited to send
our plan, unique, that we are not asking for anything but the backing of a purchase loan. This project might be the only one, that has large positive returns as the
utility bill alone on the centers will top $800,000 dollars this year without the
projects we are proposing. But I suspect, cash flow, is of no interest to these folks when giving out these funds, which I expect do not have to ever be paid back.
You would like with all the bail out of banks, some bank could be prompted to stand behind such a project. Although I was active in helping President Obama to get elected (search YESWECANSOLVEIT google) I still have not made a connection to help in this search. Not anything solid yet.

I am also becoming more involved in a funding project having to do with a new form of solar electric generation. Very exciting and well be involved in the sales and marketing of the system as soon as it's ready. Increases in solar pv effectiveness are written when anyone is able to increase their collector effectiveness by 2 or 5% more effective, still most systems are in the 20% effective range...so imagine my excitement becoming involved with a product that in rated 80%. This statement
should shake the very foundations of the industry, but my following here is still relatively small and we are not being too vocal about this Quantum Leap forward in
solar electric generation, solid in the knowledge that others, will be doing this
on our behalf, soon. I will be looking for a fair, equity partner in the $40 million dollar range and the search has already begun. Interested, qualified, parties should contact me here. Federal Solar Tax Credits Lifted and Extended....

The $2,000 dollar limit on Fed tax credits has been lifted for residential solar and commercial
solar added to homes and businesses after January 2009. For California, adding the utility rebates mandated by the California Department of Energy, this can only be called a solar
WINDFALL.

In Real Estate, everything to do with property is location, location, location. When we talk
Renewable Energy, it's always been about timing, timing, timing. Because the cost of the
solar investment on a 3 bedroom/2 bath home, can easily run between $35,000 to $40,000.
This is generally considered a pretty tough sale in any economic climate. But today, when
homeowners are looking for ways to get their hands on cold, hard cash. Financing a system
over 5, or 10 years, or more, using an equity line to get back say $15,000 in cash within
say 60 days, cutting their utility bills, adding value to their homes, all seems to make some
sense. All this while they and we in the industry, do our parts to cut our dependency on
our countries oil reserves, helping maybe to stop a war or two, fighting or meeting the new
state emission standards, all make good sense.

One of the most harmful things for the fledgling renewable industry has been the starting and
then stopping of the incentives that have made these projects feasible to the homeowner or
business owner. I'm speaking of local programs, utility weatherization programs, zero interest
loan programs, utility rebate and state and federal rebate or tax credit programs. All the
stopping and starting confuses the purchasers and when purchasers or investors are confused
they do what I do...nothing. At least nothing, until they have the time and energy to figure
it all out, themselves.

My name is Al Boek, (Pronounced BECK) I am the founder of a company called American Energy Conservation Group, est 1981. I am a pioneer in the renewable energy, conservation
and solar generation business. Yes, good for you, if you noticed, we were not selling solar PV
in the earlier days, pre 90's, but solar DHW (stands for Domestic Hot Water Heating Systems)
Our systems, were the more effective, less expensive, less exciting, but more profitable (for the homeowner) wicked step-sister of the solar industry. Why the most cost-effective type of solar
you can buy, until now, before the programs I mentioned above? A thermal solar system
collector is about 85% effective compared to a solar cells, 18-19% effectiveness. Now there
are exceptions to this rule, I'm being told, but for now, say 90% of the solar PV you might be
offered or purchase today is in that range.

So, It becomes more cost-effective to add conservation measures first, solar domestic hot water
systems next, including space, spa, pool and hot water heating for showers, then add the
properly sized solar electric system to handle the remaining electric or gas utility bill.

The larger solar manufactures and distributors what you to ignore the above published facts.
Solar rebates, Fed Tax Credits, higher home values, and lower utility bills...DO NOT CHANGE
THE FACTS...

One guy on Pickens Plan actually calls PV Solar Electric the SUV of the Renewable industry..because the energy used to make the products and the cost and size of the investment,
do not in anyway, except when they pay for most of it for you, make the systems install more cost-effective then the addition of sound, proven conservation and DHW solar additions.

Picken's Plan Member Reminds Me...It's Time To Kick Our Alternative Energy Programs Into Gear

I've been asked, is the McCain Supporter in the picture me? No...I do admit, I've been active in the race, but my support, and I make no apologizes, is for Senator Barrack Obama. Why?

He was the first to come out with a total, comprehensive renewable energy plan. As with several
of Obama's platforms, energy Independence was something that McCain morphed into after Obama introduced it....

Obama was the first to suggest we take energy tax dollars away from big oil and redirect it to
Alternative Energy. Obama has promised $10 Billion a year to the effort. High gas prices, our
policies in other countries toward their oil reserves and our thirst for foreign oil along with the
loss of life and our countries treasure demand it. Ok....enough about politics....

Global Warming...Like it or not. Believe it or not. Intensive emission standards are already in the works for California and the rest of the nation....These new state mandated programs require cities throughout the state to set new local standards and goals to reduce emissions in their cities and start adding these new requirements in a aggressive manner....Public Transportation, City planning, Waste and Pollution all must be addressed. This coupled
will extensions of the Solar Credits for 8 more years, the bailout dollars extended to the industry and other incentives is creating a industry in California which should create a climate for
renewables that far exceeds the needs of the early eighties, and should create ten of thousands
of new Green jobs in every state in the Union.

There are many ways someone interested in the renewable energy field can make their mark...I
personally will go the time tested way. It is what has worked for me in the past, it is what worked for my customers and my suppliers.

These pictures are of a job marketed, sold and installed in Alamo, CA. This home was several million then...early nineties, God only knows what the homes worth today.

Notice the oak seat and head on the interior bay window and the trim around the doors and windows all natural clear oak. Sets off and frames out the vinyl, which has gotten some

bad press as to the pollution when manufacturing, but really provides a great energy efficiency window systems. Little or no expansion and contraction during extreme weather changes..Low e gas and Argon gas between panes with butel seals make this a real efficient window and

the angles of the bay, stick out from the house to catch sunshine and breezes. The sidelights fold down for cleaning, both lites and both side lites have screens of course. These window can be purchased with fake grids to make a nice effect on the exterior....The job in this picture ran

nearly $20,000 as I remember, I sold it, but the added comfort, energy savings and eye appeal added is priceless. The customer loved the job. Don't recall putting solar on this job..so I guess the window and door investment was expensive enough at the time, these customers will

enjoy this job for years to come...Plus if you live a a busy street....no noise.

Conservation can be fun and profitable for the homeowner

Most homes built even 5 years ago are under insulated. Aluminum windows, even double pane, can transfer energy 1700 times faster than wood or vinyl, Since aluminum heats and

than can shrink in the winter, seals in the windows can be compromised. Usually south

facing windows do this first, south west next, due to sun and weather exposure...How can you tell if your windows are shot? Look for moisture between the panes of class..if you see it your seals are gone or going.

With all the foreclosures out there not getting that unusual to find houses like above, but I must admit this was a bad one.

Solving the energy crisis now facing the nation is really not as complex as many of the experts would have you believe.

Everyone of them wants to put the cart before the horse.

3.) Only then do we add solar electric to the home or business and then we can actually undersize it and save the customer money there too.

Like anything in life you must have a passion for it to be truly successful. But, It sure doesn't hurt if you can make a good living at it too. Right? Our first year in Redding, CA we did $500,000 in gross sales act about a 25% profit margin. Energy was actually cheap compared to today.

I remember telling my customers we would one day be trading American blood for oil. Sadly I was correct. But really, even I could not see two wars and progress and another on the rise.
This is insane.

The customers that listened and took measures then, have been rewarded at least 5 to 1 over
the initial cost (energy investment) they took. The more conservation and generation measures taken then, the more dollars returned on investment now.

How can you not have a passion for a business that does that for it's customers...and country?

It is my intention to answer every question you might have if you decide to join with us in
taking Al Gore's call to action to heart. And you can get wealthy, doing the right thing.

Yes, there is another energy crisis in California and this time the entire nation is involved.

Nearly thirty years ago, several of my associates and I created a company I named American Energy Conservation.

We went on to market, sell and install thousands of energy conservation projects through out
the state of California. We also addressed the energy production side of the equation by installing thousands of solar systems statewide as well.

Recently Nobel Prize Laureate and former Vice President Mr. Al Gore created a campaign and an organization http://wecansolveit.org . Mr. Gore has issued a warning, many as you know,
on global warming its harmful effects to the planet and the need to replace our dependency on
oil and other fossil fuels. He has also issued a call to action with goal of our country becoming
100% free of these fuels. Is he a big dreamer, maybe. Can it be done? Yes.

In the following days and post I would like to propose what I call The American Energy Conservation Group Plan to my readers and challenge you, to find something wrong with
the plan we started on nearly 30 years ago.
